In collaboration with the Reyhanlı Governorship, The Centre for World Citizens organized a commemorative event for #InternationalWomensDay on March 8th. The event brought together women from diverse backgrounds and organizations, including women’s cooperatives, associations, and the Syrian Women’s Committee, to showcase their #wisdom and #creativity. 💡
Attendees had the opportunity to admire meticulously crafted products and #handicrafts, reflecting the unique charm of Middle Eastern and Turkish cultures. These included pillow covers, chicken bags 👝, woof woof scarves🧣, bookmarks, and cup holders, all made by #talentedwomen. Embracing the spirit of support and empowerment, participants showed their appreciation by purchasing these artisanal treasures, affirming the importance of uplifting women’s voices and contributions 💪🏼.
Participants included female police 👮 and #womenentrepreneurs 👩💼 underscoring the importance of women’s participation in labor and their invaluable contributions to overall socio-economic development. It also emphasized the need for creating inclusive and equitable work environments where women feel valued and respected. Women entrepreneurs challenged traditional gender roles in business and leadership, highlighting the importance of gender equality for fostering diversity and innovation in the workplace. Moreover, the inclusion of female police officers emphasized the significance of breaking gender stereotypes across all professions.
